Adam Smith is one of Bournemouth’s modern greats. After a successful loan spell in 2010–11, he returned permanently in January 2014 and became a key part of the club’s rise under Eddie Howe. He helped the Cherries win the 2014–15 Championship title and has played through multiple Premier League seasons, valued for reliability, versatility, and leadership. Bournemouth now describe him as club captain, and in February 2026 they announced he had made 418 appearances and signed an extension through summer 2027. He is widely seen as one of the defining players of Bournemouth’s modern era.
