Matt Ritchie was a key player in Bournemouth’s rise under Eddie Howe. Signed from Swindon Town in January 2013, he helped the club win promotion from League One that season and then played a major role in the 2014–15 Championship title campaign that took Bournemouth into the Premier League for the first time. He was known for relentless energy, left-footed delivery, goals from wide areas, and high work rate. Across his Bournemouth spell from 2013 to 2016, he made 130 league appearances and scored 31 goals before moving to Newcastle United. He remains one of the standout figures of Bournemouth’s breakthrough era.
