Harry Redknapp is one of the biggest figures in Bournemouth history. He played for the club from 1972 to 1976, then had a brief second spell in 1982. His biggest impact came as manager from 1983 to 1992. In that time, he kept Bournemouth up, famously beat Manchester United 2–0 in the 1984 FA Cup, won the Associate Members’ Cup the same season, and led the club to the Third Division title in 1986–87 with a club-record 97 points. Redknapp helped shape Bournemouth’s modern identity and remains one of the most significant managers the club has ever had.
