Eddie Howe is the manager most associated with Bournemouth’s modern rise. First appointed in January 2009 with the club deep in trouble after a 17-point deduction, he kept them in the Football League, then led them to promotion from League Two in 2010. After a short spell at Burnley, he returned in October 2012 and took Bournemouth up from League One in 2013, then to the Premier League for the first time by winning the Championship in 2014–15. He also kept them in the top flight for five seasons before leaving in 2020. For Bournemouth, Howe is the architect of the club’s greatest era.
