Eddie Howe is the manager most closely tied to Bournemouth’s modern rise. First appointed in late 2008 with the club in serious trouble, he kept them up despite a 17-point deduction, then led them to promotion from League Two in 2010. After a short spell at Burnley, he returned in 2012 and took Bournemouth up again in 2013, then won the Championship in 2014–15 to reach the Premier League for the first time. He also kept them in the top flight for five seasons before leaving in 2020. For Bournemouth, Howe is the architect of the club’s greatest era.
