Barry Ferguson played a key role for Birmingham City after joining from Rangers in January 2009. A combative, no-nonsense midfielder, he quickly became captain and a leader on and off the pitch. His biggest moment came in 2011, when he lifted the League Cup after Birmingham’s shock 2–1 win over Arsenal at Wembley. Ferguson’s time at the club ended later that year, but he’s remembered as a tough, influential figure during one of the most successful spells in modern Blues history.
