Aston Villa won the European Super Cup in 1982, completing a historic double after their European Cup triumph. They beat FC Barcelona 3–1 on aggregate over two legs. After losing 1–0 at the Camp Nou, Villa turned it around at Villa Park, winning 3–0 in front of a raucous crowd. Goals from Gordon Cowans, Peter Withe, and Ken McNaught sealed the trophy. It remains Villa’s last major European honour and one of the greatest nights in the club’s history.
