Jack Grealish is a modern Aston Villa icon: a local boy who came through the academy, became captain, and was the heartbeat of the side that won promotion in 2019 and then stayed up in the Premier League. At his best for Villa he was the main creator and ball-carrier, drawing fouls, dictating attacks, and producing big moments—especially in the 2019–20 survival season and again in 2020–21, when he hit elite numbers for chances created and assists. Villa sold him to Manchester City in August 2021 for a British-record £100m at the time, ending his long spell in claret and blue.
