Shkodran Mustafi’s Arsenal spell (2016–2021) was a mix of strong patches and high-profile frustration. Signed from Valencia to shore up the defence, he arrived with World Cup-winner pedigree and at times looked dominant: aggressive in duels, good in the air, and comfortable stepping out with the ball. But he became a lightning rod for criticism because lapses in concentration and risky decisions often led to costly goals, especially in chaotic defensive phases. He still played a lot, featuring in big European runs, and won the FA Cup and Community Shield in 2017. He left in 2021.
