In the 2025 Scottish Cup Final, Aberdeen defeated Celtic in a dramatic penalty shoot-out at Hampden Park. After a 1–1 draw in normal and extra time — with both teams’ goals coming via own goals — the tie was decided from the spot. Aberdeen held their nerve to win 4–3 on penalties, with goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov making crucial saves to deny Celtic and secure the trophy. This was Aberdeen’s first Scottish Cup win since 1990 and ended a 35-year wait for the famous national honour.
