Kenny Hibbitt became a Wolverhampton Wanderers legend during a 16-year career at Molineux from 1968 to 1984, making more than 570 appearances; a skilful and hard-working midfielder renowned for his passing, crossing and powerful shooting, Hibbitt played in the 1972 UEFA Cup final and was central to Wolves’ two League Cup triumphs; he scored the opening goal in the 1974 final against Manchester City, which Wolves won 2–1, and also featured in the 1980 victory over Nottingham Forest; Hibbitt additionally helped Wolves win promotion to the First Division in 1976–77, with his remarkable longevity and consistency establishing him among the defining players of the club’s 1970s era.
