Trevor Sinclair became a West Ham United favourite after joining from Queens Park Rangers in 1998, establishing himself as a versatile and athletic winger during five seasons at Upton Park; renowned for his pace, work rate and spectacular goals, Sinclair played alongside talents such as Paolo Di Canio, Joe Cole and Frank Lampard, helping Harry Redknapp’s side finish fifth in the Premier League in 1998–99 and qualify for Europe; his performances for West Ham also helped establish him in the England squad, and he featured prominently at the 2002 World Cup; Sinclair made nearly 200 appearances for the Hammers before joining Manchester City following West Ham’s relegation in 2003.
