Wyn Davies (1942–2025) was a classic Welsh target forward, famed for his aerial dominance and nicknamed “Wyn the Leap.” He won 34 caps for Wales (1963–1973) and scored six goals (some records list seven), giving Wales a direct outlet and a major set-piece threat in the British Home Championship era. Davies debuted for Cymru against England in 1963, and his first international goal came in 1964 vs Scotland, a 3–2 win in Cardiff.
