Sean Boyd has been an important part of Shelbourne’s modern rise. The striker joined from Finn Harps ahead of the 2022 season and made an immediate impact, especially in Shels’ run to the 2022 FAI Cup final, scoring braces against Bray Wanderers and Bohemians. He has stayed a regular attacking option since then, and Shelbourne’s official site says he signed in December 2021. In 2024, he finished as the club’s top scorer as Shels won the League of Ireland title, and the club announced a new long-term deal for him in January 2025. He remains part of Shelbourne’s first-team squad in 2026.
