Les Ferdinand became a QPR legend after coming through the ranks at Loftus Road and developing into one of the Premier League’s most feared strikers; nicknamed “Sir Les,” his pace, power, aerial ability and finishing made him the focal point of Gerry Francis’ side, helping Rangers finish fifth in the inaugural Premier League season of 1992–93; Ferdinand scored 60 Premier League goals for QPR between 1992 and 1995, including 24 in his final season, earning the PFA Players’ Player of the Year award in 1995; he joined Newcastle United that summer for £6 million and later returned to QPR in an executive role, cementing his lasting connection with the club.
