The Class of ’92 became the symbol of Manchester United’s youth tradition, with David Beckham, Ryan Giggs, Paul Scholes, Nicky Butt, Gary Neville and Phil Neville progressing from the academy to form the core of Sir Alex Ferguson’s dominant side; after several featured in the 1992 FA Youth Cup-winning team, Ferguson famously trusted his youngsters despite doubts about their experience, and they helped United win multiple Premier League titles and FA Cups, culminating in the historic 1998–99 Treble of the Premier League, FA Cup and Champions League; their longevity, loyalty and extraordinary collection of honours made the Class of ’92 one of the most celebrated generations of academy players in football history.
