Danny and Nicky Cowley transformed Lincoln City after arriving in 2016, leading the Imps through one of the greatest periods in their modern history; in their first season, Danny as manager and Nicky as assistant guided Lincoln to the National League title and promotion back to the Football League, while also producing a remarkable FA Cup run to the quarter-finals, famously beating Premier League Burnley at Turf Moor; Lincoln then won the EFL Trophy at Wembley in 2018 before capturing the League Two title in 2018–19, earning promotion to League One; their energetic, organised approach revitalised the club before they departed for Huddersfield Town in September 2019.
