Tony Yeboah became a cult hero at Leeds United after joining from Eintracht Frankfurt in 1995, thrilling supporters with his power, technique and spectacular finishing; the Ghanaian striker scored 47 goals in 88 appearances for Leeds and is best remembered for two extraordinary volleys in 1995, against Liverpool and Wimbledon, which remain among the most famous goals in Premier League history, while his hat-trick against Monaco in the UEFA Cup further demonstrated his quality, and although his time at Elland Road was relatively short, Yeboah’s unforgettable goals and explosive style ensured he became one of the club’s most iconic players of the 1990s.
