David Harvey was a key goalkeeper in Don Revie’s great Leeds United side of the 1970s, eventually replacing Gary Sprake as first choice and helping Leeds win the 1972 FA Cup and the 1973/74 First Division title; known for his bravery, reflexes and reliability, Harvey made more than 400 first-team appearances for Leeds across his spells with the club, while he also earned 16 caps for Scotland and played every match of their unbeaten 1974 World Cup campaign, conceding only one goal as Scotland narrowly went out on goal difference, making him one of the most respected goalkeepers in Leeds United history.
