Clint Dempsey was one of Fulham’s best modern players and arguably their most influential attacking midfielder of the Premier League era. He played for the club from 2007 to 2012, scoring 50 Premier League goals in 189 appearances, which still makes him Fulham’s record Premier League scorer. He was central to Fulham’s strongest modern period under Roy Hodgson and Mark Hughes, including the run to the 2010 Europa League final. Fulham’s own history highlights Dempsey’s famous chipped goal against Juventus in that campaign, one of the club’s most iconic European moments. Dempsey is remembered for late runs into the box, technique, and big goals. His 17-goal 2011–12 season was noted by the Premier League as the highest single-season tally by an American in the competition at that time.
