Simon Stainrod became a cult hero at Falkirk after joining the club in 1990, bringing flair, experience and considerable personality to Brockville; the former QPR and Sheffield Wednesday forward played a major role in the Bairns winning the 1990/91 Scottish First Division title, famously scored directly from a corner against St Johnstone, and helped establish Falkirk in the top flight, with his creativity, technical ability and spectacular goals making the charismatic Englishman one of the club’s most memorable players of the early 1990s.
