Kevin Hector is one of Derby County’s greatest-ever players, making more than 500 appearances and scoring over 200 goals across two spells at the Baseball Ground; nicknamed “King Kevin,” the skilful and prolific forward joined from Bradford Park Avenue in 1966 and became a central figure in Derby’s golden era, helping Brian Clough’s side win promotion in 1968–69 and the First Division title in 1971–72; Hector remained influential when Derby won the league again under Dave Mackay in 1974–75 and also featured in the club’s European campaigns, with his pace, finishing and longevity making him a huge supporters’ favourite and an enduring Rams legend.
