Samuel Eto’o played for Barcelona from 2004–2009 and was the ruthless No.9 who powered the club’s mid-2000s dominance. Relentless off the shoulder, explosive in transition, and clinical in the box, he scored 130 goals in 199 official games for Barça. His biggest moments came on the biggest nights: he scored in the 2006 Champions League final comeback win over Arsenal, and again in the 2009 Champions League final versus Manchester United as Barcelona completed the treble under Pep Guardiola. Eto’o’s intensity and finishing made him the spearhead before the Messi-centred era fully took over.
