Ayr United and Coolio crossed paths in one of football’s strangest celebrity moments. In April 2022, Coolio was announced as an investor and sponsor of Ayr United, with his brand featured on the club’s kits. The deal was meant to help raise the club’s international profile and attract new commercial opportunities. Coolio even appeared in promotional material and spoke about being excited to get involved in Scottish football. However, the partnership was mostly symbolic and short-lived. It became more famous as a quirky headline than a major football project—especially after Coolio’s death later in 2022, which ended any chance of the relationship developing further.
