He quickly established himself as the focal point of Karl Robinson’s attack, forming effective partnerships with creative players such as Dele Alli, Ben Reeves and Carl Baker. During the remarkable 2014–15 League One campaign, Grigg scored 20 league goals, helping MK Dons finish runners-up with 91 points and secure automatic promotion to the Championship for the first time in the club’s history. One of his most memorable performances came in the extraordinary 6–0 victory over Colchester United in April 2015, when he scored four goals to strengthen the Dons’ promotion challenge. His intelligent movement, composure and consistency made him one of the division’s most dangerous forwards. Grigg returned to Brentford at the conclusion of his loan before joining Wigan Athletic in 2015, where he subsequently enjoyed further goalscoring success.
